Process Definition
Often small business owners think their business doesn't have a process. "If I had a process,
I wouldn’t have to do everything myself!" The process is still in the minds and bodies
of the owners, and can be expressed and documented through interviews and collaborative working
sessions. When you are in the process or are the source of the process, it is extremely hard
to see it. Having a committed listener and recorder helps take the process out of the subjective
realm and bring it into the objective realm, where others can see it, learn it, own it, and innovate
it. This enables business owners to delegate it so they can have more time to address the things
they need to do to continue to grow the business and fulfill their lives.
Process Definition may cover the following types of processes:
- Ideation/Innovation
- Onboarding and Training of New Employees
- Sales
- Production
- Reporting
- Performance Review
