Coaching
What is coaching?
Coaching is a learning methodology—a focused way of
working with people to help them make their visions reality
and help them define and adjust to new roles and situations.
Coaching facilitates their transition from one reality to
another. An external change can happen in seconds, for example,
in the time it takes to utter a sentence:
- "You’re hired."
- "You’ve been promoted!"
- "We’re shutting down the division."
- "Will you marry me?"
- "We’re moving."
- "I’m pregnant."
While we can make an external change in seconds, which could mean a change in status or position, the internal transition within a person takes take a lot longer, especially when a new role, skill set, or way of being requires a shift in patterns of thinking and behavior. Coaching addresses the internal transition experienced by the people who are affected by and need to implement the external changes, as well has integrating the internal and external states to produce desired results.
A coach is a qualified professional who partners with a client and uses passion, talent, expertise and experience to enrich and accelerate the client’s learning in the service of producing extraordinary results.
